Mrs. Bickford has been teaching for 18 years with this being her first year here at Beckley-Stratton.

Where have you taught previously?

“I have taught at Nutall Middle School, Gauley Bridge Elementary, Oak Hill High School, Collins Middle School and now I am teaching here at Beckley Stratton Middle School.”

What is your favorite type of music to teach?

“That’s a hard one! I think my favorite type of music to teach for choir is Christmas songs. For band, however, I like to teach concert music.”

Do you have any words of wisdom for students wanting to join choir or band?

“It requires dedication, discipline, and a love for music. It is not only an individual making music, it involves a whole team. The most important part is that music can be fun.”
