Chili Night is a fun, family friendly festival held in Uptown Beckley. 2017 marked the 27th year that this fun event has been held. Nothing brings people together more than food, music and a good time. Chili Night has become increasingly popular throughout the years. A record breaking 5,000 chili sampling tickets were sold this year alone.

There are many categories in with contestants can apply for. For the 5th year Best Ambulance took the first place prize for the category People’s Choice. They also took second place on Most Attractive booth. As the saying goes, if you’ve got it flaunt it. If I do say so myself, their booth was very festive.

Chili Night is a place for young and old to have fun, It’s also a time for the town of Beckley to get together and show off their chili making skills. Mason Davis, 7th grader, said it best “I Love chili.” Students of BEST and Beckley residents are already looking forward to next years’ event.
