As of this school year, students of Raleigh County have started doing a thing called Reimagined Time Days. Basically, when we don’t have school because of the weather or any other complication, we still do work to get credit for the day just as if we were in the classroom or school building.

Students are permitted five Reimagined Days per school year. These days are so important because instead of having to make up the days and have a late summer, we get the credit we rightfully deserve. Reimagined Day work amount is up to the teacher, but students are allowed to work at their own pace as long as they turn it in on time. The teachers have to come to school incase a student needs help. The students get work from every class and are allowed to message the teachers for help.

Erika Hilliard, an 8th grade student, “didn’t really like them,” but went on to say that she “wants a full summer.” She also stated that she has to “send teachers emails just for their help”

How do students benefit from Reimagined Days? Students learn how to manage time and how to fit doing their work in the day. “They get the privilege of working on their school work from their own home” explained Ms. Borck, a 7th grade science teacher. “They also get to sleep in and create their own schedules.”

In my own opinion, I don’t really like them, but I do, however, like the idea of a full summer and that is why they are important to do. You may like these days, but I know one thing for certain. I do not enjoy them in the slightest.
