Have you ever sat down and wondered which gaming console is for you? Are you on the side of PS4 or are you a die-hard Xbox One owner? This is a question that has been surfacing the internet for quite some time; however, we’re still not able to conclude which is truly better because we all have our own, personal, opinions.

Xbox One has a lot of benefits such as having games launched instantly without disc switching due to installs. Being able to add as much extra storage as needed through external HDD is ideal for gamers in addition to Xbox One having a huge cloud advantage to 300,000. The cons consist of slight lack of power over PS4, higher in price over PS4, the quite large console, and the slow installation time.

7th grader, Mason Hammond believes that the PS4 is better. Hammond stated that, “PS4 is better to me because it has over 200 disk games for it and 500 digital games. The controllers have long battery life, and the voice controls are easier to use then Xbox One.” Hammond went on to say that there are “things that could be fixed on the PS4, like the streaming system and share play. Not to mention, the controller is slightly uncomfortable.”

On the other side of the gamer fence we have the PS4. It is considerably less expensive compared to the Xbox One. PS4 also offers virtual reality and is being sold at a higher rate with consumers, with over 40 million people already purchasing, while Xbox One only has 20 million users. The cons of PS4 consist of an uncomfortable controller, and a lot less cloud servers then Xbox One.

Being a gamer that owns both consoles, I believe that Xbox One is better than PS4. For starters, the controller is way more comfortable. The access to apps and games are overall easier for me than on PS4. The voice control is a very nice added touch and it has a far better track record with the online services it offers users. On the other hand, Xbox One has its downfalls, too; for instance, the console itself is quite large. The Xbox One costs at least $80 more than the PS4 does, and the Xbox One has a slight power disadvantage on the PS4. Essentially the PS4 has an advantage with the faster 8GB GDDR5 memory.

7th Grader, Kaian Juengst is a PS4 gamer. Juengst says, “I believe the PS4 is cheaper to play on. The console itself performs more smoothly than others. The console is very popular, but the thing I have an issue with is the controller. The controller can be uncomfortable at times.”

All-in-all, it sounds like PS4 may be a little bit more popular then Xbox One. Xbox One may cost more, but it seems to have more comfortable controllers and better cloud access. PS4 is the cheaper console, and it looks to perform more smoothly then others. In my opinion both are exciting consoles, but Xbox One still holds the title for me.
