“Striving to Be the Best” is the slogan here at Beckley-Stratton and these students truly represent that with their attitudes, grades, and ambition. At Beckley Stratton, it’s easy to do well with the encouraging environment and inspiring teachers. In this article we are giving the students credit for all the things they accomplished this October 2nd 9 weeks. If you want to be featured in the next student recognization article ,make sure to do your best and you can succeed just like your fellow students.

 

Principal Awards

Students who showed excellent behavior, faithful attendance, and academic achievements received the principal’s award. Those who received this award were recommended by teachers and staff.

Caleb Otte, 7th grader, was one of the students who received both the Principles award and Shining Star.  “I do the basic things like make sure everybody is doing the right thing. Also, if somebody is sad or quiet I try to make sure they are ok; so pretty basic, but it helps.” he said.

Character Awards

Courage, respect, and honesty are just a few of the traits that the recipients of the character award demonstrate everyday. These students show outstanding decision-making skills.

6th grader Aiden Filipek said that he revived this award by “obeying the school rules and listening.”

Students of the Month

The students that are given the Student Of The Month award have shown academic improvement from the last 9 weeks, strong leadership skills, and have followed all the rules and policy’s of the school. They have nowhere to go but up and hopefully will be excelling throughout the rest of the school year.

8th grader Jessica Bennet said “I’m extremely proud of myself for receiving this award. It’s not everyday you get recognized for doing something great, even if it’s as simple as doing your work in class.”

The shinning star is an academic achievement award. The shinning star is awarded every 9 weeks for each grade level. Each grade level team selects one student for the award.
