The BEST Cheer Team began their competitive season with a bang, placing 1st in the small division category as well as being awarded the title of Grand Champions.

Middle school cheer teams from across the region met in Charleston on Saturday October 28, to participate in the 2017 George Washington Regional Competition.

The Bulldog Cheer Team competed against seven other middle schools. Each team performed a 2 ½ minute routine along with a 30 second technical cheer. The routine included tumbling, jumps, dance, and stunts, all to 8 count cheer music.

Dedication and hard work earned the Bulldog’s the well-deserved victory. The competition team consisted of thirteen girls with two alternates. Among the fifteen-member team, two expressed their thoughts about the recent competition.

Brianna Weis, an 8th grade cheerleader, said that her coaches and teammates gave words of encouragement.  Lainey Pack, a 6th grade cheerleader, stated her favorite part of the competition was winning; it was a good day to be a Bulldog.

The BEST Cheer Team will soon be competing in The Raleigh County Middle School Cheer Competition. It will be held on November 18, 2017 at the Raleigh County Convention Center.  Good Luck Bulldogs!
